Industrial access control for ensuring security and outlining the company’s areas

Security in work settings is a hot topic for entrepreneurs and plant managers because controlling the flow of employees, clients, and suppliers inside a production plant and management areas is essential to preventing accidents, optimising processes and regulating access in sensitive areas or strategic departments.

A smart access-management system can associate access permits with single users and groups, set a maximum number of accesses in a department or bind access to an area to the presence of the head of the department. A major bicycle saddle manufacturer was seeking a solution for controlling presence flows in corporate areas.

The solution had to interface with the personnel management system to get information and ensure maximum speed at main access points with a high number of entrances and exits in the same time slot. Based on these requirements, we installed 20 dual-technology ethernet readers to delimit areas, a concentrator for managing and regulating permits, and over 415 badges for employees and suppliers.

This system ensures security and greater efficiency by controlling access to the company’s various areas based on defined rules. Moreover, the company has applied this control model to its international branches to standardise processes as much as possible.
